Submission Guidelines and Publication Information

Updated: March 21, 2008

Special Note:

After some years of sporadic publication, nanobison is publishing one last "mega-issue" in early Q2 of  2008, which will include all stories and poetry previously accepted for publication, but which have not yet appeared in a previous issue.  All authors of accepted works have been sent a land-mail notification of my intentions, along with compensation for their contribution and an opportunity to withdraw their work from submission, should they so choose.   This final issue, containing approximately 18 works, will be released within roughly two weeks of land-mail receipt of the publication agreements from all the contributors.  This will allow time for a last round of edit/proof review.  I will also send final disposition emails to all authors who have emails "in the queue", insofar as I can (given recurring problems with email database corruption).

NOTE: If you are an author who received an acceptance email, but did not receive the land-mail correspondence, please notify me immediately via the address below.  I have already received responses from roughly half of the accepted contributors, including some in Europe, so I assume the mail should have gotten to where it is going by now.

The zine will continue to be hosted in static form indefinitely.  Authors who have their stories posted in this last mega-issue or stories posted in the back-issues may have their works removed from the website by sending land-mail to this address:

The reasons for this indefinite hiatus are many.  A primary factor of consideration has been the desire of this humble editor to spend more time on my own creative development projects, including a novel and a game project I have been struggling to complete.

It's been a fun ride.  I have greatly enjoyed working with the authors, poets, and artists, and with my original co-editor, Pam Bainbridge-Cowan.  My hearty thanks to all of you who have submitted works for consideration or review, regardless of whether they were accepted.  My sincere apologies to those of you who have been negatively impacted during my extended period of non-responsiveness while I recovered from various personal afflictions this last six months.

Cheers, best wishes, and happy writing!
